Not Again 03:28
it's six a.m. again i'm up before the sun is i drag myself out of bed i've mastered this routine clothes on, hair straight, don't be late the more times i've done the less i feel there's a leash on my neck it bites down like a vampire promising eternal pay it's all to make ends meet my time, my soul to survive the status quo that i know and loathe i've lived this day before i can't take it much more not again not again not again another year plays out day in, day out, these days blur am i still who i was? it's getting hard to tell i recall i once felt free but that must have been some teenage dream i've lived this day before i can't it much more not again not again not again it's six a.m. again i'm up before the sun i get myself back to sleep oh fuck, i'm late again i feel that leash, that vampire bear its fangs back into my neck i've lived this day before and it's such a fucking chore not again not again not again

no tomorrow is worth the price of today so why do so many sacrifice so much for a day that they might not even see life on the horizon life on the horizon live forever in the moment that you're truly there live for another if another never makes you wait until your sword grows rust life on the horizon life on the horizon life on the horizon is a promise fate's not sure it can keep find your reason even if it takes you far from home find your reason even if it means you have to rob a grave with your bare hands no tomorrow is something that you'll find today so treat tomorrow like the kiss you're awaiting from the person that you'd die for life on the horizon life on the horizon life on the horizon is a promise fate's not sure it can keep

Fool In Love 03:18
i can't help myself you make me want to throw the things we own around to amuse not abuse the only punches i throw are punchlines i hope they land i hope you hold my hand i love to fool around i'm a fool in love i sink when you swim i sleep when you arise i end when you begin but it's all in good fun contrarian ways just to show you my love show that i pay attention, pay you mind i love to fool around i'm a fool in love don't take me too seriously just take me home if it takes you a fortnight a lifetime to see my love hurry up hear me when i pledge i'd drive you anywhere even over the edge i'd leap along a swan dive into the abyss with my love what a treat when will these wonders cease? i love to fool around i'm a fool in love
4.
Without You 03:28
we walked the planks on hyannis beach where ghosts and refuse were left underneath and the weather was fickle but true while the ocean sang in harmony with you i wouldn't be here without you i wouldn't be here without you there hung the works in nameless frames set in the manner of a former estate then the nomad home where george had led and then seasons later was the room he lay dead i wouldn't be here without you i wouldn't be here without you i might still be underground or one of the ghosts we chose the room the one floor suite beside the tower near halloween where the shower spoke with a stuttered throat and we held our breath until we made it home i wouldn't be here without you i wouldn't be here without you i might still be underground or one of the ghosts

he never stays too long somewhere never long enough to care he's moving at the speed of shame anytime he makes a mess instead of cleaning up he gets on the closest bus and makes his escape he's still running he's still running a brand new job in a brand new town a brand new face he's wearing now a little less drink, a little more truth but what's good ain't built to last it's built to spill from his seventh glass with words he's not sure that he meant he's still running he's still running he's been running all his life all his life all his life, he's running is it consequence or curse? a family hex or just desserts? he's never sure of what's on his tail paranoia's in his blood poisoning his need to love confining him to solitude self imposed or fate's design what's the difference, he decides it doesn't change his need to run he's still running he's still running he's been running all his life all his life all his life, he's running

North Star 03:02
when the bottle breaks and the swears leak from my face spewing vile hate on the ones i love it's a desperate plea i know i'm wrong, i know i'm weak and in so much need for help sent from above when i don't know where to go my north star leads me to home in the dead of night there are stars that catch my eye and lead me awry down roads i regret but there's only one whose heart is benevolent she's a steadfast sun and the brightest in the sky when i don't know where to go my north star leads me to home keep me on the path keep me from the past when the new day comes and shines light on the things i've done i am overcome with sick and fear it's a played out song, singing 'i know i'm weak, i know i'm wrong' still you come along and lead me down the road when i don't know where to go my north star leads me to home when i'm drowning in an ethanol sea my north star shines light on me

about

Well, here we are again.

Sobriety seems to be sticking for Keith, looks seem to be sticking for Pete, talent seems to be growing for Jeff. Always more talent from Jeff.

These six songs are a bit more earnest and plainspoken than we've been in the past, which I suppose is a natural side effect of getting older and trying to know thyself.

Pete was a technical wizard for this album, microphining and recording and chopping and doing all of the album-making-stuff that isn't just playing and singing.
